President Cyril Ramaphosa on Monday said several programmes were under way to improve government’s vetting process to ensure what happened to Uyinene Mrwetyana does not happen again.
The president was speaking at the launch of this year’s 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence in Limpopo.
Unfortunately for Precious Ramabulana the president’s words came too late for her as she was brutally raped and stabbed 52 times in her room on Saturday in the same province that the president was launching 16 days of Activism Against Gender based Violence.
Precious Ramabulana a student at Capricorn FET Mokomene campus originally from Venda Precious came to Botlokwa Mokomene to further her studies but just 2 days before 16 days of activism campaign for no violence against woman and children in South Africa she was brutally raped and murdered.
As it stands no one has been arrested for Precious’s murder, in the wake of this Capricorn FET Students have marched to Botlokwa Police Station demanding justice for Precious Ramabula. Botlokwa residents have also raised their concerns on social media, many condemning the incident and calling for harsh action or sentences against the perpetrator(S).
There is also a community meeting that’s planned for Thursday 1PM at Angry Tigers grounds under the #justiceforpreciousramabulana and all residents are urged to attend as to address the issue of child and women abuse in our community.
Botlokwa Online will be following this and anyone should feel free to use our platform to get the message across. A re thusaneng Batlokwa, let’s work with the police to bring the perpetrators of this evil deed to book. Any planned events or marches let us know.
